Recipe Ideas for Meat Plan #6

Our meat plan #6 is one of the most popular meat plans we offer. It contains a great variety of meats including  chicken, pork, beef. In this blog entry we’ll offer a few ideas of food you can prepare for yourself or for your family. The plan includes 3 pounds of chicken legs, 3 pounds of pork spare rib tips, 3 pounds of chicken wings, 2 pounds of ground meat, a whole chicken, 2 pounds beef stew, and 3 pounds shoulder pork chops.

Chicken

The easiest way to cook the chicken legs and chicken wings is to bake them in the oven. First step would be to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Second step lather the chicken with your favorite sauce homemade or bought. It could be a barbecue sauce, a lemon garlic marinade with honey, really anything you would like just make sure it is well seasoned. 3 pounds of chicken legs/wings could serve up 6 people. Both the chicken wings and legs usually take around 45 minutes. Remember to flip them half way through cooking, and keep an eye so the cause doesn’t burn.

The whole chicken that the meat plan includes could be bought whole or you could ask our butcher to cut it the way you prefer. We like to chop the chicken in pieces and make a kind of chicken stew. First step would be to season the chicken with salt and garlic then brown it in a frying pan and transfer to a stockpot. In the same frying pan sauté julienne cut onions, red peppers, tomatoes and carrots and transfer to where the chicken is. Add white wine, and seasoning, parsley, paprika, and a bay leaf. When the chicken is almost done around 40 minutes add homemade French fries on top. When you serve the chicken the French fries will mix with the chicken soak in the delicious sauce. This dish could also serve up to 6 people.

Beef and Pork

2 pounds of beef stew can be cooked similarly to the chicken stew, but because we are going to add beef stock it’s a could idea to coat the beef in flour before browning so the sauce gets nice and thick. Sauté chopped up vegetables, that could include onions, celery, carrots, peppers, or tomatoes and transfer to where the beef is. Add the beef stock, bay leaf and whatever seasoning you prefer. When the meat is almost done which could take up to an hour add the chopped potatoes. Make sure the potatoes are covered in liquid if not add water. This serves up to 4 people.

Shoulder pork chops are great seasoned with salt, garlic, oregano, black pepper and pan seared in a frying pan. They go great with mashed potatoes, sauteed vegetables, salads, baked potatoes, well the list goes on and on.

There are hundreds of ways to prepare the ground meat, empanadas, lasagna, stuffed shells, burgers, meatloaf…We will have a complete blog entry about cooking with ground meat.
